The Kalo Hotline turns Hoʻokuaʻāina’s beloved community resource into a grassroots donor movement, one that feeds both body and soul. By joining this movement, individuals and businesses alike are paving the way for food sovereignty in Hawaiʻi, ensuring kalo (the traditional staple of our ancestors) continues to nourish our people today.
100% of your recurring donation enables Hoʻokuaʻāina to continue programs and services for at-risk youth, struggling families, students, and our precious kūpuna. All of that helps feed and sustain our community.

Every month, donations through the Kalo Hotline translate into pounds of kalo and poi distributed to local families, kūpuna, and community members in need. This effort keeps alive the belief that it takes the community to feed the community.
Raw kalo and lau are harvested weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays. Fresh poi and kalo paʻa are processed every other Thursday. Because we harvest based on demand to maintain freshness, all products must be ordered in advance.
